Cookie policy

Art. 1 What this is about

Cookies and similar techniques such as local storage (localStorage) place information on your device or read it from there. Under § 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021) this is permitted only with your consent, unless the storage is strictly necessary for a service you have requested to work. Where personal data is processed in the process, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in addition.

This policy explains what the website klangnest.click actually stores on your device, how the notice on your first visit works and how you can change your decision at any time. It supplements our privacy policy.

Art. 2 The notice on your first visit

On your first visit a notice about data storage appears at the bottom of the screen. It offers three equal options: “Accept all”, “Necessary only” and “Settings”, where you can switch each category on or off individually. No button is highlighted, there is no default setting to your disadvantage, and the website remains fully usable whatever you decide.

Until you have made a choice, nothing runs beyond the technically necessary operation of the page. Your decision is saved under the key klng_consent_v1 in your browser's local storage so that the notice does not reappear on every page view.

Art. 3 The five categories

The notice is prepared for future additions and distinguishes five categories:

• Necessary: storage without which the website does not work as intended, such as remembering your choice. It cannot be switched off.
• Functional: convenience features such as remembered form entries or language settings. Not currently in use.
• Analytics: audience measurement and statistics on how the website is used. Not currently in use.
• Marketing: advertising networks, conversion measurement and recognition across other websites. Not currently in use.
• Personalisation: adapting content to earlier visits. Not currently in use.

As things stand, only the “necessary” category is in use. Should we introduce services from other categories in future, they will become active only after your express consent, and this page will be updated beforehand.

Art. 4 What is actually stored

The website sets no cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones. The only entry on your device is:

A note on the contact form: when you submit it, your details are transmitted to the FormSubmit service. During that process FormSubmit may set technically necessary cookies on its own domain, over which we have no control. More on this in the privacy policy.

Art. 5 Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your decision at any time. In the footer of every page you will find the “Cookie settings” button. Clicking it reopens the notice, where you can switch categories on or off or decline all optional categories. The new choice replaces the previous entry.

Alternatively, delete the entry klng_consent_v1 through your browser's site-data management. On your next visit the notice will then appear as it did the first time.

Art. 6 Browser settings

Every common browser lets you block cookies and site data altogether, allow them only for certain sites or delete them automatically when you close the browser. You will usually find these settings under “Privacy and security” or “Site data”. If you block local storage for klangnest.click completely, the website remains usable; the notice will, however, appear on every visit because your choice cannot be remembered.
